Juan was born in the city of Cali, Colombia. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, artists, and musicians, he quickly started developing an interest in the arts. In 2005, after graduating from high school he moved to Texas to pursue his journey in art. In 2010 Juan graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor of Fine Arts, focusing in Drawing and Painting.
Juan’s work feels a bit like Salvador Dali. He paints dreamlike images in which fantasy and reality meet, time and memory shift, and finely depicted everlasting compositions are captured to invite the viewer to step into higher consciousness. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, Juan wants to seduce the viewer into a world of ongoing equilibrium where intervals of allegories articulate the streams of the human condition.
